Guwahati: Assam Police has arrested six persons for their illegal involvement in smuggling of Rhino horn.
Based on intelligence input, Biswanath police had launched an operation and arrested six persons from Biswanath district of Assam who was trying to sell a piece of rhino horn.
The arrested persons have been identified as Aslam Sheikh, Hamid Sheikh and Ghanashyam Gupta and three of them is a resident of Ambari village of Biswanath Chariali.
While the other three has been identified as Zamir Dhali is a resident of Bangaon village of the Chariali, Mantu Chamuwa is a resident of Lehugaon village of Nagaon district and Kiran Das hails from Borachuk village in Gohpur.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
