Sikkim: In a bold commitment to the future of Namchi city, Satish Chandra Rai, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) candidate for the upcoming by-elections, has vowed to transform the region into a premier tourist destination. His remarks came after filing his nomination for the elections scheduled for November 13.
Addressing a gathering of enthusiastic supporters, Rai expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support from both the SKM party and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang. “My main priority will be to ensure that Namchi is developed into an exemplary tourist hub,” he stated, emphasizing his dedication to transparency and effective governance.
Rai outlined his vision for a series of infrastructure projects designed to enhance the tourism appeal of Namchi. “If elected as the MLA, there are numerous projects I plan to initiate, all aimed at enhancing the infrastructure and tourism appeal of our beloved Namchi,” he affirmed, underscoring the potential for growth and development in the area.
Confident in his electoral prospects, Rai shared, “People have already shown me their support, and I am sure that I will win this election.” He plans to officially launch his campaign on November 4, immediately following the Diwali festivities. “We will start holding public meetings and campaigning extensively. Even minor issues affecting our community are crucial to us, and we must address them collectively,” he added.
Despite the presence of opposition parties in the electoral race, Rai remains undeterred by the competition. “I accept this challenge and am committed to moving forward in unity with the public,” he declared. He reassured citizens that their hopes for progress would not be in vain, emphasizing that Sikkim is thriving under the capable leadership of Chief Minister Tamang.
“We will work closely with party members to align our efforts with the vision laid out by our leader, Prem Singh Tamang,” he concluded, rallying his supporters for the work ahead. As the election date approaches, all eyes will be on Rai and his commitment to driving Namchi’s development forward.
