Special Session of Assam Legislative Assembly Tomorrow

Guwahati: A special session of the Assam Legislative Assembly will be held on August 17 (Wednesday).

The session will start from 3 pm instead of 9 am which was scheduled earlier.

Furthermore, Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi has summoned the special assembly session.

As per reports, the special session has been summoned in connection to the 75th Independence Day’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

In lieu with this, the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting was held on Tuesday. Discussions in the meeting focused on the remarks that the lawmakers will make at the assembly session tomorrow.

Speaking about the meeting, Congress MLA Rakibul Hussain said, “Today we discussed about the two congress MLAs who had quit the party. The party-exiting leaders of Congress now claim to be genuine congressmen. For fear of losing the elections, they now refer to themselves as congressmen.”

Notably, the Assam Legislative Assembly’s autumn session will begin on September 12.
