Guwahati: A high-speeding vehicle lost control and crashed into a road divider on the Shraddhanjali Flyover in Guwahati on Wednesday night, causing a major accident.
The impact left the vehicle severely damaged, but the driver abandoned the car and fled the scene before authorities arrived.
According to sources, the i20 car was traveling from Zoo Road Tiniali towards Ganeshguri when the driver lost control, leading to the crash. Preliminary investigations suggest that drunk driving may have been a factor, though an official confirmation is yet to be made.
Local police arrived at the accident site soon after being alerted and recovered the damaged vehicle, which bears the registration number AS 01 BS 2398. Authorities have launched an investigation and are working to identify and locate the driver responsible for the incident.
