Guwahati: In a tragic turn of affairs, a pedestrian was injured after a speeding van lost control in Guwahati city of Assam on Wednesday.
The accident took place at Chandrapur of the city.
As per reports, the driver of the van was in an intoxicated state due to which he lost control of the vehicle and hit the pedestrian.
Reportedly, both the driver and the handyman of the vehicle fled from the spot after the incident, but the city police recovered many cannabis packets from the van.
The vehicle was heading towards Chandrapur from Guwahati. The registration number of the vehicle is AS 01 JC 1417.
The injured person has been identified as Pawan Das.
Moreover, further investigation of the incident is underway.
