SSC Withdraws Manipur Exam Results Due to Data Error, BJP MLA Raises Concerns
Northeast Desk, 20th March: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has retracted exam results for Manipur following the inadvertent omission of data from one phase of the recruitment process. The error, which affected the final result declaration for various positions including Constable (general duty) and Rifleman (general duty), was attributed to the multiple phases of physical and medical tests conducted due to the law and order situation in the state.
In response to the issue, Manipur BJP MLA Rajkumar Imo Singh raised concerns, questioning whether the error was a genuine mistake or indicative of deeper systemic issues. Singh emphasized the state government’s commitment to addressing such challenges and called upon the Chief Secretary to engage with central government officials for rectification.
The withdrawal of exam results comes amidst ongoing ethnic strife in Manipur, with at least 219 fatalities reported since May last year. Tensions escalated following protests against the demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status by the Meitei community, highlighting the complex dynamics within Manipur’s diverse population.
