Guwahati: With the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led BJP government in Assam completing 100 days, the Chief Minister stated that very soon all city buses in Guwahati under the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) will be replaced with electric and CNG buses.
Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the government has already planned to replace all diesel engine buses with CNG and electric buses in the coming year. He informed that the government will soon procure 200 electric buses and 100 CNG buses.
Chief Minister Sarma further added that the goal of the government now is to completely replace fossil fuel-run vehicles with environment-friendly alternatives in Guwahati.
