Storm in Assam’s Sivasagar Causes Huge Destruction

Guwahati: Around 19 villages have been disrupted after a heavy storm hit in Assam’s Sivasagar district early on Thursday morning.

Normal life has been disrupted in Dikhowmukh area of the district.

The storm has caused several trees to be uprooted and broken electric posts. There has also been a huge loss of cattle, persons, and property.

Meanwhile, the storm has completely closed the route that connects Gaurisagar and Dikhowmukh.

A person identified as Mridul Khaund and his wife suffered injuries when a tree fell on top of their residence.

However, there have been no reports of human casualties.

It needs to be mentioned that the locals had to clear the roads themselves since no district administration authorities had arrived in the area after the storm.
