“Stray tiger” trapped in Assam’s Sonitpur

Guwahati: A tiger that had been prowling in the villages of Borsola in Sonitpur district was finally caught by the forest officials on Wednesday.

According to reports, the tiger was roaming around the villages for than a month.

The tiger that had come from the Orang National Park in search of food.

However, after several fruitless attempts the forest department finally caught the beast after setting up a trapping cage with a bait inside.

Meanwhile, the beast will now be tranquillized and its health will be assessed.

It may be mentioned that depending on the tiger’s condition, the forest department will determine whether to rehabilitate it in the forest or send it to a zoo.
