Strict Vigil on Militant Forces needed: Meghalaya CM

Guwahati: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday stressed on the need to step up vigilance to review any attempts to form a new militant force or regroup in the state.

According to reports, the Chief Minister Sangma confessed that the administration is concerned about the recent arrest of a social activist who sought the support of National Socialist Council of Nagaland – IM to build a new militant organisation in Meghalaya.

Questioned on the matter, he replied that of course it is a matter of concern and the government need to ensure more and more security in the state.

He further stated that the security forces are doing well and the government appreciate their efforts and dedication towards their work but more measures should be taken.
