Students Union Urges State Govt. to Establish CUET Centres in Arunachal
ITANAGAR: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has lodged a strong appeal with the state government to establish Common University Entrance Test (CUET) examination centres within Arunachal Pradesh. The union has highlighted the severe hardships faced by students who are currently forced to travel outside the state to take the exam.
In a formal memorandum submitted to Education Minister Taba Tedir, the student body detailed the immense financial and logistical burdens placed on the student community due to the absence of local CUET centres. The AAPSU leaders pointed out that the lack of adequate communication facilities within the state further compounds the problem, making it difficult for many students to even complete the registration process.
According to the union, the National Education Policy (NEP) mandates that CUET examinations be made accessible to all students. Therefore, they have called on the government to take immediate action to address this issue and protect the educational interests of students in Arunachal Pradesh. The memorandum was signed by AAPSU vice president (admin) Bengia Pillia, assistant education secretary Lingdom Kame, and assistant IPR secretary Hipu Taso.
