Sultan of Oman Receives Ceremonial Welcome in India; Strengthening Bilateral Ties
National Desk, 16th December: On the second day of his state visit to India, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman was accorded a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu welcomed the Sultan, emphasizing the warm relations between the two nations.
Union Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, received the Sultan upon his arrival at the Delhi airport. The visit is expected to enhance friendship and cooperation between India and Oman, with PM Modi hosting a luncheon in honor of the Sultan.
This state visit, at the invitation of President Murmu, provides an opportunity to explore avenues for future collaboration between the two countries for regional stability, progress, and prosperity. Oman is recognized as India’s closest defense partner in the Gulf region, and defense cooperation plays a crucial role in the strategic partnership between the two nations.
