Supreme Court Addresses NEET-UG Exam Petition and Related Transfer Requests
Northeast Desk, 20th June: The Supreme Court has taken note of a petition filed by students who appeared for the NEET-UG exam at a center in Meghalaya. These students claim they lost 45 minutes during the exam and are seeking inclusion in the group of 1,563 candidates who were granted grace marks and allowed to reappear for the exam on June 23. The apex court has issued notices to the Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA) concerning this matter.
The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for these pleas on July 8, underscoring the urgency of addressing the students’ concerns.
Additionally, the Supreme Court has entertained a petition filed by the NTA, which requests the transfer of NEET-UG 2024-related cases from various High Courts to the apex court. The Supreme Court has placed a stay on the proceedings before the High Courts regarding these cases, ensuring that this will not disrupt the ongoing counseling process for NEET-UG candidates.
