Suryakumar, Pandya Likely To Gain Promotion To Grade A Of BCCI Central Contracts
Guwahati: India’s ace batter Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya are expected to be promoted to Grade A of the 2022–23 as per information in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
According to reports, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav will likely be promoted to Grade A of the BCCI central contracts for 2022–2023. On the other side, the BCCI Central Contract list is likely to be updated to include Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, Hanuma Vihari and Wriddhiman Saha.
Suryakumar and Pandya are currently employed under Group C of the contracts.
This year in T20Is, Suryakumar has been in excellent form. He scored 1,164 runs overall at an average of 46.56 in 31 T20I games this year including two centuries, nine fifty-pluses and the highest total of 117. He also scored the most runs in T20Is this year.
The year 2022 is also going well for Hardik Pandya. He has scored 607 runs at an average of 33.72 in 27 games and 25 innings this season, with three half-centuries and the best individual score of 71*. In the 20-over format, he has also claimed 20 wickets so far this year. He has also scored 100 runs in two innings in 3 ODIs this year, with the top score coming at 71*. Additionally, he has six wickets in the 50-over format this season.
Since January of this year, Rahane has not played for an international cricket team. In his two Test appearances this year he scored 68 runs at an average of 17:00 including one fifty. He had two fifty-sevens and 479 runs at an average of 20.82 in 13 games in 2021. He has spent a considerable amount of time away from the team due to his erratic performances.
Saha hasn’t played for Team India since a Test match against New Zealand in December 2021. Currently, the highest level of contract is the Grade A+ which is held by Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.
