Suspected Kuki Militant Leader Nabbed in Guwahati Operation

Guwahati police have successfully apprehended Haolungmang Samta, identified as a key leader of a suspected Kuki militant organisation. The arrest took place on Thursday, April 10th, following a targeted operation conducted by the Gorchuk police in the Boragaon area of the city.

Intelligence reports led the Gorchuk police to Samta’s hideout, where the Manipur-based militant leader had allegedly been residing for a considerable amount of time. The swift action by the local police resulted in his capture without any reported incident.

Following the apprehension, a team of officials from the Manipur Police has arrived at the Gorchuk Police Station in Guwahati. Their presence confirms that they will be taking custody of Haolungmang Samta to proceed with further legal actions related to his alleged involvement in militant activities.

As of now, police officials have withheld specific information regarding the charges that Samta may face. Details concerning the timeline for his transportation back to Manipur for subsequent legal proceedings are also yet to be officially disclosed.
