Suspected ULFA-I Communicator Injured in Police Encounter In Assam’s Tinsukia
Guwahati, 30th July: A suspected member of the outlawed militant group United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) was shot by police during a recent encounter in Tinsukia district of Assam.
A search effort was underway to locate any hidden bombs in the area when the incident happened.
The youth, identified as Juman Bora from Jorhat, was wounded in the left leg during the operation as he tried to elude the police.
An explosive weighing 8 kg was discovered in Mamorani of Tinsukia.
Juman Bora is now being treated in a Tinsukia non-military hospital.
The matter is still under investigation by the authorities.
