Suspected ULFA-I Linkmen Apprehended Ahead of Independence Day
Guwahati, 13th August: In a significant development ahead of the 77th Independence Day celebration, the Demow Police in Assam’s Sivasagar district apprehended two individuals suspected to have links with the banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I).
The suspects were identified as Dibyajyoti Chetia, hailing from Changmai village, and Raju Ahmed, a resident of Demow Dehajan Amtol. The apprehension was made based on suspicions of their involvement with the banned outfit.
During the operation, the police recovered objectionable documents and mobile phones from their possession. This apprehension, along with recent similar actions, underscores the ongoing efforts to ensure security and maintain peace in the region.
