Guwahati: Suspended Congress MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed has fought eviction from the encroached land of Barpeta Satra at Barpeta district of Assam.
Ali has also warned the government with harsh retaliation after five years.
Taking about the matter, Ali said that “Nobody could evict you till I am alive. Almighty Allah will protect you.”
He further claimed that the BJP has dominated the state for five years and would rule it for at least another five, adding,” You should not fear. Nobody could evict you till I am alive.”
Since its creation in Dispur, the Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government has been carrying out evictions in various parts of the state.
However, in the recent months, the government freed a huge tract of land from the encroachers in Darrang and the Lumding Reserve Forest.
It may be mentioned that the land revenue department of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) on Sunday carried out the third phase of eviction at Dudu Colony in Lahorijan at Assam-Nagaland border.
