Suspended SP Taken to 3-Day CID Custody In Dhula Minor Death Case

Guwahati: The Crime Investigation Department (CID), Assam has placed suspended Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajmohan Roy in 3-day custody in connection with the unnatural death of the minor girl in Dhula.

Rajmohan Roy, who had been suspended ever since the incident came to light, reportedly turned himself in to the CID on Thursday.

Roy had fled the scene ever since the incident. He arrived at the CID office to surrender, soon after which he was arrested yesterday.

Meanwhile, Additional SP of the Dhula Police Station, Rupam Phukan has been sent to judicial custody.

Rupam Phukan was arrested for failing to carry out his duty and attempting to defend the accused. Additionally, Phukan had taken a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from the accused’s relatives.

On the other hand, the CID arrested executive magistrate Ashirbad Hazarika on Friday after he allegedly surrendered to them.

The executive magistrate and circle officer for the Assam government reportedly surrendered themselves in to CID yesterday.
