Tainted Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee, His Aide Arpita Sent To ED Custody Till Aug 3
Guwahati: A corrupt West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee and his assistant Arpita Mukherjee have been detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) until August 3.
Additionally, the court ordered that both of the arrested defendants undergo medical examinations every 48 hours.
It further instructed the ED to not interrogate Arpita between the hours of 9 pm and 6 am.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) detained Chatterjee on Saturday in connection with the state’s alleged School Service Commission (SSC) fraud.
Three flats in West Bengal’s Diamond City were among the many disproportionate assets that Chatterjee’s ED discovered after his detention.
The TMC asserted that it will not intervene politically if any leader is found to have committed a wrongdoing while also calling for a time-bound investigation into the case against Chatterjee.
Investigators from the ED conducted raids at multiple locations around the state on July 22 as part of their investigation into the financial links to recruiting scams.
On July 23, a day after the ED discovered massive amounts of cash worth over Rs 20 crore at Arpita Mukherjee’s home, she was taken into custody.
The purpose and use of a total of more than 20 mobile phones that were found inside Arpita Mukherjee’s home are now being determined, according to the investigation agency.
From the different locations of the people connected to the scheme, other incriminating documents, records, information on dubious companies, electronic gadgets, foreign currency, and gold have also been found.
