Tamil Nadu Man Arrested in Connection with Murder of Assam Youth in Kerala
Guwahati, 3rd May: The Kerala police have made an arrest in connection with the murder of a youth from Assam, who tragically lost his life while cleaning a concrete mixer machine near Vakathanam.
Pandi Durai (29) was apprehended by the police on Thursday in relation to the incident.
The victim, Laiman Kisk (19), was discovered deceased in the waste dump pit of the concrete plant on April 28.
Investigations revealed that Durai, the operator at the plant, activated the mixer machine while Kisk was cleaning it on April 26.
As a result, when Kisk fell into the machine, Durai reportedly utilized an excavator to dispose of his body in the waste pit.
Subsequently, Durai allegedly covered Kisk’s body with slurry waste from the plant, concealing the crime.
However, Kisk’s body was recovered two days later, prompting further investigation.
The police also uncovered that Durai, who also served as an electric operator at the plant, had tampered with the establishment’s CCTV system.
The accused was presented before a local court, where he was remanded to judicial custody pending further proceedings.
