Tamil Nadu: Three students crushed to death by truck In Chengalpattu district
National Desk, 12th March: Three students died after they were allegedly hit by a truck while travelling by standing on the vehicle’s footboard in Tamil Nadu’s Chengalpattu district on March 12.
The incident occurred on the Trichy-Chennai Highway, involving a private bus and a container truck.
As the bus approached Sirukanallur, a container truck dangerously approached the vehicle, leading to a fatal collision.
At this time, three students who were standing on the bus’s footboard were crushed between the bus and the truck, resulting in their immediate demise.
Additionally, another student sustained severe injuries and has been hospitalized for treatment.
Upon receiving reports of the accident, Melmaruvathur Police promptly arrived at the scene. They retrieved the bodies of the deceased, which were scattered on the road, and transported them to a government hospital for autopsy.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the police to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic accident and ensure accountability.
