Guwahati: In view of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases and surge of the new Covid variant Omicron, Tamil Nadu has announced a total lockdown on Sunday in the state.
According to reports, during the lockdown period services like autos and taxis will be allowed to go to airports, buses, and railway stations.
Reports, further claimed the lockdown will take place from 10 pm on Saturday and it will last till 5 am, Monday.
As per the official reports, a total number of 28,561 new covid cases reported in the state and with this the total number of covid cases in Tamil Nadu goes up to 30,42,796.
It may be mentioned that around 28,561 recovered with 19,978 people getting discharged in the last 24 hours, leaving 1,79,205 active infections.
