Taylor Swift Announces New Album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, Set for Pre-October Release
Entertainment: Global music sensation Taylor Swift has officially announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl”, much to the delight of her ever-loyal fanbase.
The announcement came at a rather symbolic time, 12:12 am on August 12, a nod to the album’s place in her discography. Although a definitive release date remains under wraps, the buzz is that vinyl copies will begin shipping to fans well before October 13 this year.
This latest development follows a series of cryptic clues that had fans in a frenzy. The speculation reached a fever pitch after Swift’s marketing team dropped a 12-slide TikTok on Monday, featuring the singer prominently dressed in orange. This was followed by an orange-coloured vinyl edition of the album popping up for pre-order on her official website, practically confirming the album’s existence.
“The Life of a Showgirl” marks a significant milestone for Swift. It is her first full-length album since she regained complete ownership of her entire body of work. Earlier in May, the pop icon made a massive move by acquiring her master recordings from private equity firm Shamrock Capital, originally released under Big Machine Records. The financial details of this landmark deal were not disclosed.
This new album follows her critically acclaimed 2024 release, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was among the top-selling albums globally. Parallel to her new music, Swift has also been on a mission to re-record her earlier albums as “Taylor’s Version.” So far, she has successfully re-recorded four of her iconic albums: “Fearless,” “Red,” “Speak Now,” and “1989,” all released between 2021 and 2023.
Fans eager to get their hands on “The Life of a Showgirl” can pre-order the album directly from Taylor Swift’s website.
