Guwahati: The Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad, Assam (TAYPA) has staged a protest against the continuous hike in prices of all essential commodities in the State.
The protesters staged a mock funeral procession and raised anti-BJP slogans in Sapekhati of Charaideo district.
The protest was organized by the various District Congress Committees in all the districts of Assam.
According to reports, the activists of the TAYPA body came down heavily for the post-poll hike in prices of essential commodities.
A public appeal pamphlet by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Bhupen Kumar Borah and Assam Congress Legislature Party (ACLP) Leader Debabrata Saikia, listing five major “failures” of the BJP Government was also distributed.
