Guwahati: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day on Monday, the University Awards Commission (UGC) will launch five fellowship and research grants, including those for single girl child and retiring faculty members.
The five programmes that will be introduced today are the Dr. Radhakrishnan UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship, the Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Single Girl Child, the Fellowship for Superannuated Faculty Members, the Research Grant for In-Service Faculty Members, and the Dr. DS Kothari Research Grant for Newly Recruited Faculty Members.
The “Fellowship for Superannuated Faculty Members” has been established to give retired educators access to research opportunities. For this fellowship, 100 slots are available. Selected applicants will receive Rs 50,000 per month as part of the fellowship and Rs 50,000 per year as contingency.
The amount of funding for the “Research Grant for In-Service Faculty Members” is Rs 10 lakh, and 200 chosen candidates would receive it for a two-year period.
