Telangana CM KCR meets Uddhav Thackeray
Guwahati: K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, met with Uddhav Thackeray, the Maharashtra Chief Minister, on Sunday in Hyderabad as part of efforts to bring together several like-minded parties to fight the BJP at the national level.
Rao arrived at ‘Varsha,’ the official residence of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, after receiving an invitation from Thackeray.
Thackeray, who is also the Shiv Sena’s president, recently called Rao and invited him to Mumbai.
The gathering, according to the Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana,’ will speed up the process of national political unity against the BJP.
Later in the day, Rao will meet with NCP president Sharad Pawar, whose party governs Maharashtra alongside the Shiv Sena and the Congress.
Thackeray had previously pledged his “unconditional support” for Rao’s struggle against the BJP’s purported anti-people policies and for the federal spirit to be upheld.
The Telangana chief minister, who has been critical of the BJP and the Centre on a number of issues, has stated he will meet with his Maharashtra and West Bengal counterparts as part of efforts to consolidate opposition against the BJP and the NDA administration.
