Telangana: Rahul Gandhi makes dosa at food stall in poll-bound Jagtial
National Desk, 20th October: In a surprising turn of events, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi showcased his culinary skills during his visit to Telangana’s Jagtial district on October 20.
As part of the party’s ‘Vijayabheri Yatra’, Gandhi, who was en route from Karimnagar to Jagtial, took a brief pit stop at a local eatery.
There, he ventured into the world of dosa-making, spreading batter on a sizzling pan under the guidance of the shop owner and onlookers.
This unexpected culinary interlude was not the only highlight of his visit. Gandhi also engaged with passersby, charming the younger crowd by distributing chocolates to children.
Later in Jagtial, he addressed a public rally, making some significant promises. He pledged that if the Congress secures power in Telangana, turmeric farmers would receive support prices ranging from ₹12,000 to ₹15,000 per quintal, surpassing the Minimum Support Price (MSP) by ₹500 for all crops they cultivate.
Taking aim at the opposition, which includes BRS, BJP, and AIMIM, Rahul Gandhi asserted that they collaborate closely. He specifically criticized Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s party for supporting the saffron party in Parliament.
He also didn’t miss the opportunity to take a dig at KCR, saying that while people initially believed that ‘Janata’ would govern Telangana, it ended up being ruled by a single family when the state was formed.
This day marked the third day of Rahul Gandhi’s campaign in Telangana, with the highly-anticipated voting for the 119 seats scheduled for November 30, followed by the counting of votes on December 3.
