Ten days Police Custody for DIG Hazarika

Guwahati: Deputy Inspector General (DIG-Border) Rounak Ali Hazarika, who was arrested by CM’s Vigilance Cell was directed to be imprisoned for ten days by the court on Wednesday.

Rounak was produced before the court of the Special Judge and following the hearing, the court directed him to be imprisoned in the CM’s Vigilance Cell for ten days.

DIG Rounak Ali Hazarika was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.

He was arrested by the Vigilance Cell from his residence in Hengerabari, Guwahati.

It may be mentioned that earlier in June, the senior IPS officer was suspended by the Home and Political Department as he allegedly made several foreign visits without prior permission from the Home Department since 2011.
