Ten Tourists Injured in North Sikkim Road Accident
Gangtok: A tragic road accident occurred in North Sikkim on the night of March 15, leaving at least ten tourists injured.
The incident took place near Pakshep, Forest Dara, Mangan, around 9:30 pm, when a Mahindra Maxx vehicle carrying the tourists veered off the road and plunged approximately 100 feet down.
The tourists, identified as students of IIT Dhanbad, Jharkhand, were traveling from Lachung to Gangtok when the vehicle lost control. The group consisted of six males and four females.
Three of the injured tourists, who were in critical condition, were immediately rushed to Gangtok Hospital for further treatment.
The remaining injured tourists received medical attention at a local facility in Mangan. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, and the condition of the injured tourists remains under close observation. The incident has raised concerns about road safety in the region, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
