Guwahati: A tense situation is prevailing in Dibrugarh district of Assam after a death of a one and a half month old baby.
The incident took place in Duliajan town of the district.
Police and CRPF have been deployed to No. 1 Duliagaon, where things have gotten tense, to control the situation.
Reports claim that the deceased person’s parents identified as Raju and Savitri Bhumij, brought their daughter to the nearby Anganbadi Center on Wednesday for a vaccination against a preventable illness.
The mother later found her dead child in the middle of the night on Thursday, shocking both the family and the neighborhood.
Members of the Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA) reached the scene and informed the incident to the local health department.
Meanwhile, the baby’s death was caused by the health department’s alleged medical incompetence.
