Tensions Escalate as Myanmar Army Drops Bombs Near Mizoram Border; Firing Erupts

Northeast Desk, 13th November: Myanmar Army fighter jets reportedly dropped two bombs near the Mizoram border on the morning of November 13, sparking heavy firing between the Myanmar army and the Chinland Defence Force, just 4 kilometers from Mizoram.

Authorities have issued advisories for residents near the Indo-Myanmar border, urging them to stay at home due to the ongoing conflict.

The volatile situation has led to an influx of refugees into Mizoram, with approximately 150 fresh refugees entering the region since the commencement of firing.

Among them, 17 individuals, either refugees or members of the Chinland Defence Force, sustained injuries and sought medical attention in Mizoram. Some have been referred to the District Hospital in Champhai.

The escalating tensions in the region underscore the challenges faced by border areas and the potential humanitarian impact of the conflict, prompting concerns for the safety and well-being of residents and those seeking refuge amid the unrest.
