National Desk, September 4, 2024 — At least 10 people sustained injuries early Wednesday when a makeshift tent collapsed during a religious gathering in the Hishua area of Bihar’s Saran district, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. as a religious procession was making its way through the area. A senior police officer reported that the temporary tent, which had been erected for the event, collapsed after some attendees attempted to climb the structure, causing it to give way.
“Approximately 10 people suffered minor injuries due to the collapse. Fortunately, all of them are out of danger and were promptly transported to the nearest government hospital for treatment,” stated SP Kumar Ashish.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collapse. Further details are expected as the inquiry progresses.
