Terror Plot Busted Ahead Of Rupublic Day In Delhi
Guwahati: Delhi Police is also looking for four additional suspects ahead of Republic Day in addition to the two terrorist suspects who were apprehended from the national capital’s Jahangirpuri area last week, sources said on Tuesday.
According to the Delhi Police Special Cell sources, the suspects in the terror attacks received their weapons from Pakistan using the “drop-dead” technique and spoke with their handlers there using a social networking app.
“Delhi Police looking for 4 other suspects. They received weapons from Pakistan through the drop-dead method and were in contact with handlers in Pak on the Signal app. They got weapons at an unidentified location in Uttarakhand which is being verified,” sources said.
This comes after two terrorists who, according to the police, were assigned to carry out the targeted assaults in several states were apprehended from the Jahangirpuri area in Delhi earlier in January.
In the most recent development, the Delhi Police learned that 8 people were involved in the module. Four suspects may currently be in India, according to the police.
Reports claim that the weapons seized from the terrorists were discovered at an unidentified site in Uttarakhand, and this information is now being verified.
“Their handlers sitting at the border sent instructions on the Signal app, after which they shared the location of the bag full of weapons through Google Maps. About 8 people are involved in this module of terrorists out of which 4 can still be present in India only. 2 terrorists were used to provide weapons and 2 were used to send the Google location of the weapons to their bosses by keeping the weapons at a particular location,” sources said.
The two terror suspects who were detained in the national capital’s Jahangirpuri neighbourhood on Thursday were tasked with killing specific right-wing leaders on January 27 and January 31, according to sources in the Delhi Police on Monday.
The Delhi Police had earlier said it arrested two ‘suspicious’ men and recovered two hand grenades from their house in the Bhalswa Dairy area of Jahangirpuri.
The Delhi Police’s Special cell had arrested the two suspects, Jagjit Singh (29) and Naushad (56). On Friday, they were presented before the Patiala House Court and placed on 14 days of police remand.
Later, according to police sources, three rightwing politicians from Punjab and Delhi were on their hit list, and two of their targets had even been assigned a target date and time.
Furthermore, sources claim that the suspects, who are currently in police custody, had already met with two of their intended victims and had even taken note of their daily routines and activities.
According to the further information from the sources, the suspects would receive Rs 50 lakh for killing the first target, Rs 1 crore for killing the second target, and Rs 1.5 crore for killing the third target.
According to other reports, both had received Rs 5 lakh as a token payment from hawala operators.
Police claimed they conducted a raid at their rented home in the Shradha Nand Colony inside the boundaries of the Bhalswa Dairy police station on Friday and found hand grenades in accordance with pertinent provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). According to the police, they also found three firearms and 22 live rounds on the accused.
On Friday, a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) went to the residence and took blood samples.
Sources claim that the suspects killed someone inside the home and showed their handler a video of the incident.
The police stated that they were investigating who was killed.
Earlier, the Delhi Police claimed to have knowledge about Jagjit Singh’s connections to the terrorist Khalistani Arshdeep Dalla. According to the city police, he is a member of the notorious Bambiha gang and has been receiving orders from anti-national groups operating outside. He is also a parole breaker in a homicide case in Uttarakhand.
Naushad is also connected to the terrorist organisation Harkat-ul-Ansar (HUA), which has its base in Pakistan and especially targets Jammu and Kashmir.
He was sentenced to life in prison for two charges of murder and completed a 10-year term related to an explosive act case.
The accused moved in to the rented home last year around Diwali, and according to the neighbours, they are still building their own home.
