Thadlaskein Sports Association Revived After Years of Suspension by Meghalaya Football Association

Shillong: The Thadlaskein Sports Association (TSA) has been officially reinstated after being suspended for several years by the Meghalaya Football Association (MFA).

The suspension, which was imposed in 2019 due to violations of the MFA’s constitution and directives, has now been lifted, marking a fresh start for the association.

The TSA’s revival was driven by local efforts, which culminated in the formation of an ad hoc committee with the backing of 31 affiliated clubs.

The committee appealed to the MFA, requesting a General Body Meeting (GBM) to elect new office bearers and restore the TSA’s status. The MFA responded promptly, leading to the association’s rejuvenation.

The pivotal GBM took place on Saturday at Wahiajer Community Hall, attended by MFA officials, including General Secretary Sunesh Syiem.

The election saw Kmenlang Shylla elected as President, with Ebris Pariat and Mutchwa Thabah as Vice-Presidents. Ebormi Lyngdoh was chosen as General Secretary, supported by Herperty Khyriem as Assistant General Secretary. Pyrkhatbha Lamare will serve as Treasurer, with several Secretaries and Executive Members completing the new leadership team.

Expressing his delight at the TSA’s revival, Syiem highlighted the region’s history of producing football talent for state and national teams.

He also emphasized that the new MFA executive committee, which took charge a year ago, has now successfully reinstated two associations, including the Ri-War Mihngi Football Association.

Syiem encouraged the newly elected office bearers of both associations to prioritize the development of players in their respective areas, ensuring a bright future for Meghalaya football.
