Thailand’s Opal Suchata Crowned Miss World 2025 in Hyderabad Extravaganza

Hyderabad, Telangana: In a dazzling spectacle at the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant, Thailand’s Opal Suchata clinched the coveted crown, marking a historic first for her nation. The grand finale, held in the vibrant city of Hyderabad, witnessed an emotional Suchata, visibly overwhelmed yet radiating grace, as she accepted the title amidst thunderous applause and offered a heartfelt ‘Namaste’ to the cheering crowd.

Speaking to ANI shortly after her monumental win, Suchata articulated a profound sense of joy intertwined with disbelief. “It was so unreal,” she mused, reflecting on the 72-year wait her country endured for this prestigious honour. Her mind, she confessed, immediately drifted to the faces of her loved ones and the collective anticipation of her people. “I cannot wait to really bring this crown back to Thailand,” she declared, her voice imbued with a sense of pride and responsibility.

Suchata also reaffirmed her unwavering dedication to her ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ initiative, focusing on breast cancer awareness. She expressed gratitude for the heightened visibility her project received through the Miss World platform, confident that the title would amplify her efforts and enable her to support other worthy causes in the future. Her win, she underscored, was not just a personal triumph but an opportunity to create a far-reaching impact.

Meanwhile, the dreams of a billion Indians were put on hold as India’s own representative, Nandini Gupta, was unable to secure a spot in the Top 8 finalists. Despite an impressive showing in the preliminary rounds, which saw her ‘fast-track’ into the Top 40, the intense competition ultimately saw her exit the race, leaving the home crowd with a sense of disappointment but not diminished pride in her journey.
