Guwahati, 9 May: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will watch the much-debated ‘The Kerala Story’ on May 11. Chief Minister Sarma will enjoy the film along with cabinet colleagues and family members. This was disclosed by Himanta Biswa Sarma at a press conference in Guwahati on Monday. The chief minister also urged journalists to watch the film. But the chief minister refrained from commenting on the content of the film. He just said, “We will all go to watch the film on May 11. I am not going to promote the film. I will just sit down and watch the film. “
Meanwhile, a day after the Mamata Banerjee-led government banned the film in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has declared the controversial film, The Kerala Story banned in West Bengal. Adityanath’s announcement assumes special significance a day after the West Bengal government banned the film. The Kerala Story declared tax free in Uttar Pradesh has become the second state after Madhya Pradesh to accord tax free status to Kerala Story.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the film for exposing the terror plot during his recent address at a campaign rally in Karnataka for campaigning for the election campaign . A special screening of the controversial film was held at Garuda Mall in Bengaluru on Sunday, where BJP national president J P Nadda enjoyed the film. After watching the film, Nadda said that this film has been able to highlight a new kind of toxic terrorism without weapons.
Earlier on Saturday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “In Madhya Pradesh, we have already enacted a law prohibiting conversions.
