Thirteen Bangladeshi Nationals Detained in Tripura
Agartala: In a late-night operation on Tuesday, Tripura Police apprehended thirteen Bangladeshi nationals, including two women, from a rented residence in the Hapania area of West Tripura District. The individuals have reportedly identified themselves as members of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS), an insurgent group active in Bangladesh’s Chittagong Hill Tracts.
Intelligence sources confirmed the detentions to media, stating that the group had entered Tripura six days prior, purportedly seeking medical treatment. Officials revealed that six of the detainees exhibited burn and cut injuries on their legs.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Thuithui Mog (23), Angla Mog (35), Rumel Chakma (27), Aoj Chakma (30), Dravid Chakma (24), Ramen Chakma (24), Mik Chakma (28), Nirbhoy Chakma (27), Choice Chakma (21), Bitu Chakma (17), Kimon Chakma (22), Purna Chakma (24), and Nayanchi Mog (21). Further investigations are underway to ascertain the full details of their presence in the state and their alleged affiliations.
