Thirty Myanmar Army Soldiers Fleeing Pro-democracy Forces Repatriated from Mizoram

Northeast Desk, 30th November: Thirty soldiers from the Myanmar Army, who sought refuge in Mizoram after their military camps in Chin state were captured by pro-democracy forces, were repatriated to Myanmar via the Moreh border in Manipur.

These soldiers, including an officer, had fled to Tuipang village in Mizoram’s Siaha district. After being airlifted by Indian Air Force helicopters, they were handed over to the Myanmar military at Tamu, opposite the Moreh border.

This marks the repatriation of a total of 74 Myanmar Army soldiers who sought refuge in India following the conflict with the Chin National Defence Force.
