Three BJP Zila Parishad Members Disqualified for Anti-Party Activities in Arunachal Pradesh
Northeast Desk, 26th September: Three Zila Parishad members in Arunachal Pradesh have been disqualified for engaging in anti-party activities during recent elections. The District Election Officer made the announcement on September 18, 2024, citing their actions against the interests of their party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The disqualified members are Tanam Nacho from the 22-Nacho ST Assembly Constituency, Ponga Gongo, and Yami Hali from the 24 ST Assembly Constituency. Nacho represented Zila Parishad Member (ZPM) 2-Nacho, while Gongo and Hali held the positions of ZPM 11-Bariijo and ZPM 16-Gite Ripa, respectively.
Their removal from office comes after they were found to have campaigned against their own party’s candidates during the elections, violating party discipline and undermining the BJP’s electoral strategy in the region.
