Guwahati: Assam Police arrested three people and found a 7.65 mm pistol as well as brown sugar in the Nagaon district, the police reported on Wednesday.
A police team from the Nagaon Sadar police station allegedly conducted an anti-drug operation at the home of a wanted drug mafia named Rajat Ali alias Munna in the Mohkhuli area on Tuesday night based on confidential information.
According to Junmoni Rabha, a police sub-inspector at the Nagaon Sadar police station during an operation they were able to recover 12.80 grammes of brown sugar and a 7.65 mm pistol with three rounds of ammunition inside the home.
“The drug mafia fled from the area before reaching the police team. We have arrested three persons including the mother, and sister of the drugs mafia,” Junmoni Rabha said.
The arrested persons were identified as Farida Begum, Rubina Begum and Ikramul Hoque.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered at Nagaon Sadar police station.
