Three Northeast Students Shine at National Meteorological Olympiad

Guwahati: Three students from the Northeast have brought glory to the region by excelling in the prestigious National Meteorological Olympiad (Met-Olympiad), organized by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) as part of its 150th Foundation Day celebrations.

The achievers, Tanmoy Kashyap, Dishant Bezbaruah, and Samrat Das, secured top ranks at both the state and national levels of the competition. Tanmoy Kashyap, from St. Vivekananda English Academy in Maligaon, earned the 2nd rank in the 8th standard category. Dishant Bezbaruah of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Nirjuli, and Samrat Das of Delhi Public School, Dimapur, both clinched the 3rd rank in the 9th and 11th standard categories, respectively.

The students were felicitated during a grand ceremony at Bharat Mandapam, where they were personally honoured by the Prime Minister of India. In recognition of their remarkable achievements, they received cash prizes and mementoes, making their families and schools proud.

This accomplishment underscores the growing academic excellence in the Northeast and the region’s increasing contributions to national scientific and meteorological advancement. The achievements of these young minds serve as an inspiration to students across India, showcasing the immense potential of talent from the Northeast.
