Three Youths Drown in River Brahmaputra in Guwahati
Guwahati: In a tragic incident, three youths have drowned in the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati city of Assam on Sunday.
The incident took place at Uzan Bazar area of the city.
According to reports, five youths had gone to take a bath in the river this afternoon after which the three youth were swept away by the strong current of the river.
Reportedly, one of the three missing youths has been identified as Dhiraj Deka, a resident of Silpukhuri.
The identity of the others is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, the search operation was launched immediately but the bodies could not be traced yet.
Following the mishap, police personnel and the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) began the rescue operation.
