Tibet Youth Congress Warns of China’s Enduring Threat to India
Tezpur, Assam: The Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) has sounded a clarion call, urging India and the international community to remain vigilant against China’s persistent expansionist ambitions.
The group, which recently concluded a nationwide awareness campaign, highlighted China’s ongoing efforts to exert control over the Himalayan region, particularly along the India-Tibet border.
“China’s annexation of Tibet in 1969 was a blatant act of aggression,” a TYC spokesperson stated. “Despite the passage of decades, their imperialistic tendencies remain undiminished. The diversion of the Brahmaputra River through dam construction is a prime example of China’s disregard for regional stability and environmental concerns.”
The TYC’s nationwide journey, spanning 20 states and covering over 20,000 kilometers, was aimed at raising awareness about the complex geopolitical situation in the region. The group’s delegation, which recently arrived in Tezpur, emphasized the need for India to adopt a proactive approach to counter China’s strategic moves.
“India must remain steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity and national interests,” the spokesperson added. “International cooperation is crucial to address the multifaceted challenges posed by China’s expansionism.”
The TYC’s warning serves as a timely reminder of the ongoing tensions in the region and the need for vigilance in the face of China’s growing influence.
