Tinsukia Medical College Hospital Likely to Get Operational by June 2024, Assures Himanta Biswa Sarma
Guwahati, 2nd December: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hinted at the potential operational launch of Tinsukia Medical College Hospital by June 2024. The state government has already sought accreditation from the National Medical Council (NMC) and anticipates a visit from an NMC team for inspection in January or February next year.
CM Sarma conveyed plans to appoint up to 85 doctors to the medical college within the next three to four days, signaling a commitment to advancing healthcare services in the region. The Tinsukia Medical College is expected to have around 100 seats.
To pave the way for the medical college’s full-fledged operation, the state government will initiate Outpatient Department (OPD) and Inpatient Department (IPD) services. These strategic steps align with the government’s efforts to enhance healthcare infrastructure and medical education in Assam.
