TIPRA Motha Chief Pradyot Debbarma casts his vote; urges people to give party a chance

Guwahati: TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Debbarma voted on February 16 in Mandwai of West Tripura District.

Speaking at the occasion, Pradyot predicted a voter participation of above 9% and said the people of Tripura will give us a chance.

”Let the people decide who sits on the top chair of the state. I urge people to give a chance,” he said while speaking to reporters after casting his vote.

Pradyot recently asserted during a rally in the state’s Dhalai area that their campaign and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be the key contenders in Tripura.

”I can say that in this election, the main fight will be between BJP and TIPRA Motha. I want to tell Bengalis in Tripura that this time, Bengalis, Tribal, Muslims, and Christians will come together and will defeat BJP,” he said while addressing the people.

Moreover, he declared that the saffron party had duped the people of Tripura for the previous five years and asked them to vote for TIPRA Motha.

It needs to be noted that TIPRA Motha is the only candidate running in this election because no other party agreed to give TIPRA more territory.

When criticising TIPRA Motha on February 10, NEDA convenor and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma remarked that he should leave politics.
