Tipra Motha Founder Seeks Tripura CM’s Support to Reform TTAADC Recruitment Practices

Northeast Desk, 11th September: Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debabrma, Founder of Tipra Motha, addressed a letter to Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, urging intervention to address longstanding administrative issues in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

In his letter, Pradyot, who has been serving as Chairman of the Advisory and Administrative Reforms Committee (AARC) since Tipra Motha assumed office after a 19-year period of communist rule, highlighted systemic inefficiencies inherited from the previous administration. He noted that many officials recruited under the old regime were hired on an ad hoc basis and through informal walk-in interviews, leading to severe challenges in critical sectors such as employment, infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

Pradyot expressed concern that despite the transition from the previous government, remnants of the old administrative practices continue to affect the council’s operations. He criticized the legacy of favoritism and lack of meritocracy, which has led to qualified indigenous candidates struggling to find employment or being overlooked in favor of individuals with political connections.

The letter emphasizes the need for the current administration to prioritize merit-based recruitment and address the gaps in service delivery. Pradyot called for a comprehensive plan to be developed in collaboration with the TTAADC and presented to the central government to address these issues.

Pradyot appealed to the Chief Minister for support in reforming the TTAADC’s recruitment practices, stating that such reforms are essential for the development and empowerment of the region’s youth. He underscored his commitment to the state’s progress, emphasizing that his efforts are driven by a long-standing dedication to the development of Tripura.
