Tipra Motha MLA Urges Governor for Strict Action Against Illegal Infiltration
Agartala, Tripura: In a significant move addressing concerns over national security and demographic shifts, Animesh Debbarma, a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Tipra Motha Party, has formally petitioned Governor Indra Sena Reddy to implement stringent measures against the unlawful entry of individuals from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Myanmar into India via the state’s porous borders. The plea, submitted collectively by Tipra Motha MLAs, Executive Members (EMs), and Members of District Councils (MDCs), underscores escalating worries in Tripura regarding cross-border infiltration and its potential impact on the state’s indigenous communities.
Debbarma, while expressing gratitude to the Government of India for its recent directive aimed at identifying and deporting illegal entrants from these neighbouring nations, specifically acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their resolute stance on the matter. “First of all, I sincerely thank the Government of India for issuing an order to identify and deport individuals who have illegally entered India from countries like Myanmar, Pakistan, and Bangladesh,” Debbarma stated, adding a crucial caveat: “However, we believe that proper investigations are not being conducted against such individuals.”
Highlighting what the party perceives as a gap in enforcement, Debbarma further stressed the Tipra Motha Party’s earnest appeal to the Central Government for the immediate deployment of a Special Task Force (STF). This proposed STF, he articulated, would be entrusted with the vital responsibility of meticulously identifying illegal infiltrators and ensuring a robust and effective deportation process. Such an initiative, Debbarma contended, is paramount for safeguarding national security and, if executed with unwavering commitment, holds the potential to successfully repatriate all illegal entrants to their respective countries. The collective appeal to the Governor included a request for the letter to be promptly forwarded to the Prime Minister for his immediate and decisive consideration.
