TIPRASA Accord Set to Address Tribal Grievances in Tripura

Northeast Desk, 2nd March: The highly anticipated TIPRASA Accord is scheduled to be signed in Tripura today at 12:30 PM. Aimed at redressing longstanding tribal grievances and safeguarding their rights, the ceremony will witness the presence of key dignitaries, including Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, Member of Parliament Biplab Deb, and Tripura’s Chief Secretary.

The signing ceremony will be conducted digitally, with Tipra Motha founder Pradyut Deb Barman representing the party. Other significant figures expected to attend include Pradyut Deb Barma, Motba Chairman Jagdish Deb Barma, President Bijoy Hrangkhawl, and Leader of the Opposition Animesh Deb Barma.

One of the pivotal elements of the accord is the formation of a tripartite committee, aimed at ensuring the effective implementation of its provisions. Notably, the accord will address crucial issues pertaining to tribal land and language rights, marking a significant step towards their political and financial autonomy.
