Tiranga Yatra Marks 150th Anniversary of Anglo-Wanchu War in Arunachal Pradesh
Itanagar: Commemorating 150 years of the Anglo-Wanchu War of 1875, the Akhil Bharat Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a grand Tiranga Yatra in Arunachal Pradesh.
The rally, which stretched from the Ngissa village viewpoint to the proposed war memorial site at Nginu village, paid tribute to the Wanchu warriors who valiantly defended their homeland against British forces.
Tai Tagak, former BJP President of Sikkim, graced the occasion alongside ABVP State Secretary Biki Yader, researcher and social worker Nepha Wangsa, village chiefs, senior BJP leader Golom Bogy, government officials, panchayat leaders, and students.
Thousands of participants carried a 1-km-long national flag along a 3-km route, honoring the legacy of the unsung heroes of the Wanchu community.
The event revived historical pride and reinforced the spirit of patriotism, highlighting Bharat’s enduring tradition of resistance and sacrifice.
